Emre Imer
Buzukici, Bouzouktsis in Greek, means Bouzouki Player in Turkish.
My name is Emre İmer. I was born into a family from İzmir, Türkiye. I was introduced to the keyboard at the age of three, and later developed an interest in various string instruments, including the bağlama, oud, cümbüş, and guitar.
Since childhood, I have had a special passion for Greek music and the bouzouki. Through lessons with Orhan Osman, who is a master player, I developed my skills on the bouzouki and gradually began playing the melodies that had been engraved in my memory over the years.
I am delighted to play this instrument, which is part of the shared Turkish–Greek cultural heritage. Originally derived from the bağlama, it was first known as the "Bozuk" before evolving into what is now called the "Bouzouki."
